What sort of poetry will you hear?

At different times we cover the whole spectrum from Chaucer to the present day, taking in the likes of Shakespeare, Byron, Keats, Hardy, Eliot, Elizabeth Bishop, Ted Hughes, Philip Larkin, and contemporary poets such as Carol Ann Duffy and Simon Armitage en route plus, of course, the work of our own writers.

Other than when we have a guest poet reading, the poetry is chosen by the members and visitors who read in turn, generally with an underlying theme to the evening.  Everyone gets an opportunity to read if they want to.
